As you know, The Steel Plant Museum of Western New York was closed for four months of 2020 as a safety measure in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. We used all the digital resources we had at hand to stay connected to our volunteers, members, and our community. We posted updates to our website and social media pages. Although these
attracted a response, they could not help us alleviate the negative financial impact from the loss of most merchandise sales, visitor donations and the postponement of our annual spring luncheon.
We are pleased to announce that The Steel Plant Museum of Western New York was invited to raise funds to match a grant from the Pomeroy Fund for NYS History to help with expenses incurred for The Steel Plant Museum of Western New York to re-open safely under New York guidelines. For every two dollars we raise, The Pomeroy Fund for NYS History will grant one dollar. Your donation will help us raise up to $6,000 to help cover personal safety items for staff and visitors, a membership drive, and the purchase of improved signage to direct visitors to our museum.
Please consider making a donation today. You can donate safely and securely from our website by clicking the link below or mailing to our address listed here on our website. Donations of any amount are welcome and will count toward our match goal if received by October 1, 2020.
Thank you in advance for considering a gift towards keeping The Steel Plant Museum of Western New York safe and financially sound.
With best wishes that you and your family remain healthy and safe.
